Environment

At the moment, the subject “Environment” will include climate change, energy, and whatever other issues seem best located here. As stories/issues develop, separate sub-pages might be needed.

This is likely to be primarily a collection of links, pretty much randomly gathered as time permits. In general, I won’t have read the articles fully, so please let me know if any are inappropriate.

The subject of “global warming” (also known as “climate change”) is connected to the legislation (H.R. 2454 = American Clean Energy and Security Act of 2009) known as “cap and trade” or “cap and tax”, etc. Here is the link to the June 2009 cost estimate by the CBO (Congressional Budget Office): http://www.cbo.gov/ftpdocs/102xx/doc10262/hr2454.pdf. The first two pages of that 42-page document provide a summary of the estimate and an overview of the provisions of the proposed law.

And here is a link to a video titled “Greenpeace Leader Admits Arctic Ice Exaggeration”. Actually, I’ll give two links since each site has a different set of comments that you may want to skim through. But please realize that the comments contain language that is not acceptable on this blog. I don’t like linking to pages like that ( for this or other videos) but sometimes there are insights found among the garbage. If you are very sensitive to bad language, then please don’t bother looking at any of the comments.
