Watch the Historic Vote on SJR 127

May 18, 2009, 4:00 p.m. (CDT)

For those interested in watching the first ever vote by our state House of Representatives on Senate Joint Resolution 127, the most exciting way is to come to the state Capitol on Monday, May 18, 2009. The House will go into Session at 4 p.m. (CDT).

SJR 127 is item 26 on the calendar, meaning that they may not get to the Resolution until as late as 5 p.m. It could be later as it’s hard to predict how quickly they will get through the other pieces of legislation. The debate could well go an hour, maybe more, but you will get an eyefull and a real education. The balcony where the public is allowed holds about 200 to 250 people.

If you cannot make it to the Capitol, you can watch the live streaming video.

And above all, pray for our Representatives and the two lead sponsors, Rep. Debra Maggart (R-Hendersonville) and Rep. Charles Curtiss (D-Sparta), as they respond to questions and debate.
