US Bill Tracking Option

May 12, 2009

Somehow came upon this site http://www.govtrack.us/ that seems to present non-biased information (except perhaps on its blog page). Please let me know what you think of it.

The “About” page at http://www.govtrack.us/about.xpd gives useful information about the purpose and operation of that site. I haven’t had time to read much beyond that.

Unless I find out something negative about “GovTrack”, I’ll try using some of its features to track key federal legislation so that the results display on this “BFC blog” for the convenience of all of us. And you might want to look into some of the tracking features yourself, if there are bills that you specifically want to follow. The “Track” page at http://www.govtrack.us/users/ leads you to an option for email updates.

I found that site because of a link in some article that I read which led me to GovTrack’s information about a fairly new bill, one that might interest you:

H. Res. 397: Affirming the rich spiritual and religious history of our Nation’s founding and subsequent history and expressing support for designation of the first week in May as “America’s Spiritual Heritage Week” for the appreciation of and education on America’s history of religious faith.

See more about that bill (and an example of GovTrack’s information) at http://www.govtrack.us/congress/bill.xpd?bill=hr111-397.
